Job summary

Anglian Water is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management for the Central alliance, ensuring robust cost control and contractual performance. You will mentor junior staff and collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to deliver sustained value.

The role focuses on cost forecasting, budgeting, and early risk mitigation. The professional will manage procurement, support the Commercial Lead, and provide strategic insight to enable informed decisions within a hybrid

Qualifications

• Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CICES, CIOB).
• Experience with industry contracts e.g. NEC, JCT and a solid knowledge of contracts and law.
• Understanding and experience of procurement processes.
• NEC3/4 accreditation and related standards.
• Experience of contract administration, risk management, and managing budgets.
• Experience working with Clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Promote commercial assurance across the programme and align with AMP8 objectives.
• Lead commercial and cost assurance with effective cost control and risk mitigation.
• Provide commercial and contractual support to the Commercial Lead and performance manager.
• Oversee forecasting aligned to programme and WBS structures and monthly SAP updates.
• Update SAP with planning/forecasting data to reflect financial controls.
• Own alliance commercial position calculations including cost and performance forecasting.
• Support Early Warning and Risk Reduction Meetings to mitigate risks.
