Job summary

Leidos in Huntingdon, UK is seeking a 2nd Line Engineer Team Lead to supervise JUNO 2nd Line Engineers across two fixed locations. The role focuses on task management, coaching and ensuring changes, incidents and problems are resolved to SLAs with no impact to operations.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of a large engineering team.
• Strong communication skills, including technical documentation.
• Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
• Technical troubleshooting and problem resolution across enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Act as focal point for internal and external stakeholders to develop solutions and align JUNO output with strategic intent.
• Allocate workforce and resources to triage, diagnose, resolve or escalate requests and issues across the enterprise.
• Monitor SD+ to ensure JUNO tickets are allocated, prioritized and completed within SLAs.
• Coordinate tasking to achieve larger elements of work.
• Mentor, coach and guide 2nd Line engineers in their career development.
• Maintain trust with Customers, IMaGE, Defence Digital and supporting services.
• Provide technical knowledge to JUNO Team to resolve complex problems.
• Escalate incidents that Level 2 cannot fix, engaging with third-line engineers as required.
• Liaise with customer section heads to understand issues and prioritise resolutions.
• Lead Projects and JUNO Team tasking to ensure capacity and skills are sufficient.
• Organise Early Life Support when bringing new systems into core services.
• Line management to support engineers and maintain work-life balance.
• Manage major incidents and coordinate restoration efforts with updates.
• Problem solving and developing solutions as a technical expert.
• Represent JUNO second line engineers in mandatory meetings.
