Job summary

SSEN Transmission in Scotland is seeking an HVDC Project Engineer to join the HVDC Engineering team within the Offshore Directorate. You will support delivery of major HVDC infrastructure projects central to the UK's energy transition, collaborating with technical specialists, project teams and industry partners.

The role welcomes engineers with project engineering experience in HVDC, power transmission or energy infrastructure, and requires strong technical and communication skills to drive

Qualifications

• A degree, HND or equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Experience in project engineering, ideally HVDC or power transmission.
• Knowledge of electrical plant, substations or HVDC systems.
• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design assurance activities and governance.
• Review contractor deliverables for main plant equipment.
• Collaborate with authorities to review engineering deliverables.
• Attend FATs and support commissioning activities.
• Promote safety culture and manage project risks.
