Job summary
SSEN Transmission in Scotland seeks a Lead Principal Engineer – HVDC Plant to shape HVDC engineering across major offshore projects. You will provide technical leadership to develop, standardise and improve HVDC systems, align with SSEN standards and regulatory requirements, and drive delivery across multi-project portfolio.
The role requires a Chartered Engineer or equivalent, strong leadership and communication skills, and a track record of delivering complex HVDC converter projects while
Qualifications
- Proven track record delivering HVDC converter projects.
- Strong leadership, initiative and collaboration skills.
- Deep knowledge of HVDC plant engineering, regulatory standards and safety.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for HVDC Plant engineering initiatives across projects.
- Resolve HVDC design issues in line with SSEN Transmission standards and requirements.
- Guide and develop a team of engineers and foster an inclusive culture.
- Promote health, safety and environmental excellence per CDM/ESQCR.
- Drive innovation and engage with technology providers to shape future solutions.
- Collaborate with partners and supply chain to ensure delivery certainty.
