Job summary

SSE's SSEN Transmission is recruiting for HVDC Cable Engineering professionals at Professional and Senior levels to join the Offshore Project Engineering Team in Scotland. The roles focus on HVDC cable systems across UK, with emphasis on safety, quality, and design risk management.

You will lead FEED activities, review contractor deliverables, supervise installation and commissioning, and mentor junior engineers while maintaining stakeholder communications and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
• HVDC/HVAC transmission cable project experience preferred.
• Experience with EPC contracts and CDM regulations.
• Strong communication, time-management and organisational skills.
• Mentorship and technical leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Support FEED activities and route development.
• Review contractor design deliverables for compliance.
• Support installation, commissioning and safety requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence.
