Job summary
SSEN Transmission is seeking experienced professionals to join the HVDC Project Engineering team in Scotland, delivering state-of-the-art HVDC/HVAC cable projects across the UK. Roles include professional and senior engineering levels within the Offshore Project Engineering Team, focusing on design excellence and safe delivery.
You will work across FEED, risk assessment, contractor reviews, and supervision of installation, while mentoring junior engineers and upholding CDM and EPC requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum BEng/BSc in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience with HVDC or HVAC transmission cable projects and EPC contracts.
- Strong communication and time-management skills; mentoring junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Support FEED activities: options assessment, cable route development, landfall selection and risk assessment.
- Promote safety-in-design and manage CDM duties as part of the Designer/Principal Designer teams.
- Review contractor deliverables for compliance with Employer's requirements and legislation.
- Supervise installation and commissioning works to ensure compliance.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence within the team.
- Provide technical leadership within the HVDC Project Engineering team.
