Overview

Mechanical Design Engineer (HVAC experience essential) – Manchester. Highly competitive opportunity in the construction sector. Our client seeks a skilled professional to provide technical support from the initial enquiry through post-handover to clients.

Responsibilities

• Review enquiries/tenders and assist in developing solutions.
• Collaborate with partners on designs and equipment selections.
• Attend site visits for surveys and client meetings.
• Evaluate technical aspects of the supply chain.
• Return PQQs and create comprehensive documents.
• Attend meetings to build client confidence.

Requirements

• Relevant building services degree.
• Previous experience in the construction sector.
• Strong IT skills.
• In-depth knowledge of the Mechanical HVAC industry (plus if you have electrical systems knowledge).

Pre-Contract Involvement

• Prepare M&E tender / bid documents.
• Conduct technical reviews and identify risks.
• Attend site visits and client interviews.

Post-Contract Duties

• Finalize MEP scope and detailed design / equipment selections having regard to cost and selection of supply chain partners.
• Attend client meetings and monitor project progress.
• Handle commissioning and client training.
