Job summary

The Ferrovial BAM Joint Venture is recruiting a Rail Systems Lead Design Manager to join the HS2 Track infrastructure design teams in London or Birmingham. You will coordinate interfaces between track systems, main works contractors and alliance members, leading multidisciplinary design delivery.

You will chair design coordination meetings, manage spatial coordination, ensure design governance and safety in design, and drive timely, field-ready deliverables within a large-scale rail programme.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in rail systems design, integration, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Experience working in contractor-led, design and build or alliance delivery environments.
• Experience managing design interfaces and spatial coordination in large-scale rail projects.
• Knowledge of design management processes, safety assurance, and technical governance.

Responsibilities

• Systems Integration & Design management: coordinate interfaces among track systems, main works contractors, partners and alliance members.
• Design Management & Spatial Coordination: lead spatial coordination of rail systems designs and resolve clashes.
• Technical Assurance: coordinate assurance activities and verify compliance with design requirements.
• Health and Safety in Design: promote H&S in design and ensure CDM processes are followed.
• System Safety Coordination: manage safety requirements across multidisciplinary teams.

Education

Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or related field)

Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership

Membership of ICE, IMechE, IET or equivalent professional institution
