Job summary

SMT GB is recruiting a Field Service Engineer to support the HS2 project with maintenance, diagnostics and repairs across southern sites including Coventry, Solihull, Warwick, Birmingham and surrounding areas.

You will diagnose faults on Volvo construction equipment, carry out servicing and repairs in the field, ensuring maximum machine availability while delivering excellent customer service and complying with safety procedures.

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance (or equivalent) is required.
Proven experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction plant and related equipment.
Strong fault-finding skills and ability to work independently in the field.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

Carrying out diagnostics, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on Volvo construction equipment and other machinery.
Identifying and resolving mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine faults using diagnostic tools.
Acting as the primary point of contact for customers, providing updates on machine status and repairs.
Completing all job documentation, inspection reports, timesheets, and electronic records accurately and in real time.
Maintaining high safety, professionalism and site procedures.
