Role

Carlisle Support Services is looking for a HR & Compliance Administrator; this hybrid role combines the transactional and operational excellence of an HR People Team Administrator with the regulatory rigour of a Compliance Officer. You will be the first point of contact for people-related queries and compliance matters, supporting our frontline staff, operational teams, and key stakeholders. You will play a vital role in ensuring both HR and compliance processes are executed efficiently, supporting the business in maintaining the highest standards of service and legal compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver all transactional HR activities in line with agreed KPIs and SLAs, including new starter administration, processing leavers, and managing HR admin tasks.
  • Respond to, process, and manage all vetting and compliance requests for new and existing operatives, ensuring adherence to industry standards such as BS7858 and SIA licensing requirements.
  • Conduct Right to Work checks and ensure all vetting processes meet GDPR and legal obligations.
  • Issue contracts of employment and contract amendments.
  • Handle payroll and Wagestream queries.
  • Managing employee benefits, including Core of Carlisle vouchers (distribution and activation), Life Saver awards, Cycle to Work, Long Service Awards, Refer a Friend and any future benefits.
  • Administer TUPE, maternity/paternity, and family-friendly policies, including Peninsula letters.
  • Record and document employee queries via multiple channels, ensuring accurate and timely responses.
  • Maintain and manage employee data using Staffology and Time & Attendance systems, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
  • Support ad hoc projects as required by People Team & Compliance manager.
  • Act as the primary contact for SIA licensing and vetting issues, liaising with candidates, employees, and operational managers to resolve queries efficientlyli>
  • Escalate high-level compliance issues where necessary and ensure all processes are completed in a timely manner to support business needs.
Ideal candidate
  • Previous experience in an administrative, HR, or compliance role, ideally in a multi-site or complex matrix environment.
  • Experience building effective working relationships across organisational levels.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (grade C or above).
  • Competency in managing sensitive information and upholding GDPR standards.
  • Good interpersonal skills - personable and professional.
  • Intermediate level of IT skills in particular Excel (e.g. v look-ups/pivot tables), Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, HR Database.
  • Proven written and numeracy skills.
  • Excellent communicator (both written and verbal).
  • Proven organisation skills with ability to prioritise in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
