Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking an experienced HR Advisor to provide guidance on employee matters and manage ER cases. The ideal candidate will have over 4 years of HR experience and in-depth knowledge of UK employment law. Responsibilities include advising senior stakeholders, managing absence and performance cases, and supporting policy updates. This permanent position is based in Reading, initially office-based for 6 months, then moving to a hybrid model.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience at Advisor level in HR.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law is essential.
  • Experience managing employee relations cases is required.

Responsibilities

  • Advise employees and managers on HR matters.
  • Manage employee relations cases including absence and grievances.
  • Support policy updates in compliance with employment law.

Skills

4+ years' generalist HR experience
Strong UK employment law knowledge
Proven ER case management experience
CIPD Level 5 (or working towards Level 7)

Salary: £35,000
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Location: Reading
Hybrid: Office-based initially (approx. 6 months), then hybrid

  • Advise employees, managers, and partners on HR matters
  • Manage ER cases including absence, performance, disciplinaries, and grievances
  • Support policy updates in line with employment law
  • Maintain HR data and systems
  • Coach and support junior team members
  • Support wider HR projects and change initiatives
👤 Ideal Candidate
  • 4+ years' generalist HR experience at Advisor level
  • Strong UK employment law knowledge
  • Proven ER case management experience
  • CIPD Level 5 (or working towards Level 7)
  • Confident, organised, and comfortable advising senior stakeholders
