Job summary

Mears Group PLC is hiring a Housing Support Officer in Scotland to assist asylum seekers through the Home Office process. The role requires resilience, empathy and strong communication with service users and authorities.

You will provide practical and emotional support, monitor wellbeing, and keep accurate records for Home Office audits. The package includes a company vehicle and fuel card or a £3,500 car allowance, and a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience with vulnerable client groups
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
• Ability to assess needs and plan support
• Experience with record keeping and risk assessments
• Ability to work independently and be resilient

Responsibilities

• Support service users through asylum application process with Home Office.
• Provide practical and emotional support and monitor wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate records for Home Office audits.
• Collaborate with local authorities and other stakeholders.
