Job summary

Mears Group PLC in Perth, Scotland is seeking a Welfare Support Officer on a 6-month fixed term contract, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role supports asylum seekers through the Home Office process, providing practical and emotional support and safeguarding throughout the journey.

You will work with local authorities and partner organisations to help access healthcare, education, and community services, while maintaining records for audits and staying calm in challenging situations.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence required.
• Experience working with vulnerable client groups.
• Strong safeguarding practices and data protection.

Responsibilities

• Support service users at various stages of their asylum application process.
• Provide practical and emotional support and monitor wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate records for Home Office audits and compliance.
• Signpost to external agencies and accompany to appointments when required.
