Job summary

Housing Support Officer role at Mears Group in Portrush. You will support asylum seekers through their Home Office right-to-work process, providing practical and emotional help while safeguarding welfare and maintaining accurate records.

The job combines housing management with person-centred support across a portfolio of homes. It requires travel between sites and holding a full UK driving licence; 6-month fixed term, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Support asylum seekers throughout their Home Office right-to-work process.
• Provide practical and emotional support to individuals and families.
• Identify needs and put in place support packages to promote independence.
• Work with vulnerable and diverse client groups, including those with mental health needs or challenging behaviours.
• Carry out risk assessments and maintain accurate records for audits and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high-quality housing management and support service to service users, combining property management with person-centred support.
• Manage a portfolio of homes within an assigned region, ensuring properties are maintained to contractual standards.
• Coordinate move-ins, move-outs, voids and inspections; monitor KPIs and identify risks.
• Provide advice and assistance, working with internal teams and external agencies to ensure appropriate support.
• Communicate with colleagues, service users, local authorities and partner organisations.
• Maintain professional boundaries; work independently and be willing to travel between sites.
