Mears Group PLC is seeking a Housing Support Officer in Glasgow. The role focuses on supporting asylum seekers through their Home Office right-to-work process, offering practical and emotional help while safeguarding welfare and maintaining records for compliance.

The post holder will manage a portfolio of homes, coordinate move-ins/outs, and work with internal teams and external agencies to ensure appropriate support and safeguarding across the region.

Qualifications

• Provide welfare and safeguarding support to asylum seekers.
• Deliver practical and emotional support to individuals and families.
• Identify needs and implement support packages to promote independence.
• Work with diverse client groups including those with mental health needs or challenging behaviours.
• Carry out risk assessments and maintain records for audits and compliance.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, service users, authorities and partner organisations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality housing management and support services within a regional portfolio.
• Coordinate move-ins/outs, voids and inspections while maintaining contractual standards.
• Assess service user needs and arrange appropriate support with internal and external partners.
• Maintain professional boundaries, resilience and proactive collaboration on ad hoc projects.
