Job summary

Job description

Ensure homes across Powys meet safe, decent standards by complying with housing, environmental, and public health legislation. Work collaboratively with Housing Services to deliver aids, adaptations, and grants, including Disabled Facilities Grants and home improvement loans. Liaise with Occupational Therapy, contractors, and housing officers. Support housing renewal and enforcement policies, elevate poor conditions, and contribute to business planning. Follow council policies and legislation to deliver sustainable home improvements for eligible clients.

What you will do
  • Ensure homes meet safe, decent standards and comply with housing, environmental, and public health legislation.
  • Investigate housing complaints, carry out property surveys using HH&SRS, and monitor compliance.
  • Advise residents, landlords, and property owners on grants, loans, and housing improvement options.
  • Make informed decisions on awarding financial assistance in line with Council policy.
  • Manage and monitor housing improvement projects, ensuring value for money and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide a full technical service for adaptations, grants, and enforcement, liaising with clients, contractors, and agencies from start to completion.
