Overview

Housing Options Team Leader
Location: Redcar & Cleveland
Rate: £29.63 LTD per hour
Contract: Temporary
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Housing Options Team Leader to lead a busy Housing Advice & Information Team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional with a strong background in homelessness legislation and team management.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Housing Advice & Information Team to deliver a customer-focused service.
  • Develop and implement homelessness prevention strategies, policies, and service plans.
  • Provide effective supervision, support, and performance management for staff.
  • Ensure compliance with homelessness legislation, statutory duties, and best practice.
  • Monitor budgets, commissioned services, and performance returns.
  • Build strong relationships with partner agencies, landlords, and voluntary organisations.
  • Represent the service at meetings, committees, and court when required.
Requirements
  • Significant experience in homelessness services, with strong knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Proven experience managing and supporting teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with partner agencies and manage complex cases.
  • Educated to A-Level (or equivalent) with GCSEs in English and Maths (A-C).
  • Flexible approach with the ability to respond to service needs.
  • Full driving licence.
Desirable
  • Recognised management qualification or CIH membership.
  • Experience using Jigsaw (Housing Partnership) case management system.
  • Experience providing training.
