Job summary

Home Group Limited in Sunderland is seeking a Housing Management Coordinator to focus on tenancy support, ensuring homes are safe and well maintained. You will deliver housing management services, help customers manage tenancy and rent accounts, and support them toward secure, long-term accommodation.

The role involves coordinating re-letting and rent processing, with the potential to lead a small team and act independently across service areas.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing a housing caseload and handling landlord and housing management duties.
• Know-how of re-letting rooms or units, collecting rents, and taking formal tenancy action when needed.
• Able to take on a lead role within the team, offering guidance and support to colleagues.
• The ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from various backgrounds.
• A proactive, well-organized, and can-do attitude, with the ability to work independently.
• Confident working collaboratively with colleagues in other parts of the business as well as with external partners.

Responsibilities

• Help our customers with housing benefit claims, making sure that these are received on their rent account.
• Where there is a need, you'll also issue and sign warning letters and notices which may lead to attending court.
• Getting rooms ready for the next customers who need our help and, for maximum occupancy, you'll turn around vacant or void rooms / bed spaces / properties within set timescales.
• Ensuring we are health and safety compliant and that maintenance standards are met.

Job Description

Pay £27,500 per annum pro rata, plus great benefits including Health Cash Plan. Home, a place where you belong. This is a great opportunity to join our team. As our Housing and Property Lead, you'll focus on tenancy support for our customers, ensuring their homes are safe and well maintained. Providing a housing management service, you'll support them to manage and maintain their tenancy and rent accounts with the aim of helping them move on to a secure, long-term accommodation!

The practical bits

Work pattern will be between 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday - Thursday. Located at our service in Sunderland, there is an expectation to offer housing management support across other services in the area if required. Able to use technology for creating and updating support plans, making benefit claims, and conducting tenancy sign-ups. An Enhanced DBS check is required, and we pay for that.
