Job summary

Home Group Limited in Portsmouth is seeking a Housing and Property Lead to focus on tenancy support, ensuring homes are safe and well maintained, and rents are managed to support secure, long-term accommodation.

You will travel to Southampton and Sarisbury Green properties, support customers with housing benefit claims, and help drive health and safety and maintenance standards across our portfolio.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing a housing caseload and landlord/housing management duties
• Knowledge of re-letting rooms/units, collecting rents, and tenancy action as needed
• Ability to lead a team and support colleagues
• Ability to work on own initiative and engage diverse backgrounds
• Proactive and well-organised with strong planning
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues and external partners

Responsibilities

This is a great opportunity to join our team. As our Housing and Property Lead, youll focus on tenancy support for our customers, ensuring their homes are safe and well maintained. Providing a housing management service, youll support them to manage and maintain their tenancy and rent accounts with the aim of helping them move on to a secure, long-term accommodation!

What you'll do

• Making sure that our customers properties are homes they can be proud of, youll support your customers by engaging and involving them in their tenancies.
• Help our customers with housing benefit claims, making sure that these are received on their rent account.
• Where there is a need, youll also issue and sign warning letters and notices which may lead to attending court.
• Getting rooms ready for the next customers who needs our help and for maximum occupancy, youll turn around vacant or void rooms / bed spaces / properties within set timescales.
• Ensuring we are health and safety compliant and that maintenance standards are met.

You have

• Experience in managing a housing caseload and handle landlord and housing management duties
• Know-how of re-letting of rooms or units, collecting rents, and taking formal tenancy action when needed.
• Able to take on a lead role within the team, offering guidance and support to your colleagues
• The ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds.
• A can do positive attitude, youre proactive and well organised, and able to work on your initiative.
• Confident working collaboratively with colleagues in other parts of the business as well as with external partners

The practical bits

• You'll work Monday - Friday 9am-5pm
• The role involves travelling to and working across our 20 properties within Southampton and Sarisbury Green.
• Able to use technology for creating and updating support plans, making benefit claims and doing tenancy signs ups,
• Youll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
