Job summary

A leading housing association in the North East of England is seeking a Housing Management Coordinator. This full-time role includes hybrid working and offers a salary of £25,838 per annum. Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers to ensure their properties are homes they can be proud of.
  • Assist customers with housing benefit claims.
  • Issue warning letters and notices, potentially attending court as necessary.
  • Manage the turnaround of vacant properties within set timescales.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance and maintenance standards.

Job description

Housing Management Coordinator

Salary £25,838 per annum with great benefits including Health Cash Plan. Permanent, full time (37.5 hpw), Monday to Friday, hybrid working in Darlington.

We can’t offer a CoS for this role.

What You’ll Do
  • Ensure our customers’ properties are homes they can be proud of, supporting them by engaging and involving them in their tenancies.
  • Help customers (especially those with mental health and/or complex needs) with housing benefit claims, ensuring they are received on their rent account.
  • Issue and sign warning letters and notices where needed, which may lead to attending court.
  • Turn around vacant or void properties within set timescales to prepare rooms for the next customers and maximise occupancy.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance and that maintenance standards are met.

You have
  • Experience in managing a housing management caseload and overseeing landlord and housing management duties.
  • Know‑how of re‑letting of rooms or units, collecting rents, and taking formal tenancy action when needed.
  • Ability to take on a lead role within the team, offering guidance and support to your colleagues.
  • A "can do" positive attitude: proactive, well‑organised, and able to work on your initiative.
  • Confident working collaboratively with colleagues in other parts of the business as well as with external partners.
The practical bits
  • Monday to Friday 9 am‑5 pm.
  • Based at our supported properties in Darlington; you’ll spend your time travelling around the properties. Hybrid working between home and supported services.
  • Able to use technology for creating and updating support plans, making benefit claims and doing tenancy sign‑ups.
  • To get from A to B, you’ll need a valid driving licence and a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage!
  • You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
