Assistant General Manager | Full Time
At Wagamama, we’re an eating house for the soul. With over 160 UK restaurants and growing, our purpose is to nourish the world from bowl to soul. Inspired by fast-paced Japanese ramen bars since 1992, Wagamama is a celebration of Asian food brought to life.
We’re looking for an Assistant General Manager to join us on our journey of true nourishment.
The role |
As an Assistant General Manager, you'll be an integral part of the restaurant leadership team, supporting the General Manager in leading the restaurant in the Wagamama way. You’ll embody our values and core leadership behaviors, inspiring and motivating your team to provide exceptional service and exceed expectations. You should have a passion for people, food, and hospitality, and be driven to make positive change.
Benefits include a competitive salary, a £3000 bonus opportunity per year, an average of £140 tips per week, access to Wagestream to access up to 30% of your earnings before payday, a dedicated 6-week training program, free Wagamama food allowance on every shift, discounts at Wagamama and other brands, internal progression opportunities, wellness support, family-friendly policies, and financial wellbeing support.
What we look for |
An experienced hospitality manager capable of leading a restaurant team with positive behavior, driving performance in a fast-paced, complex environment. Strong communication skills, financial understanding, team management experience, leadership ability, problem-solving skills, and a passion for inspiring teams are essential.
The Wagamama way |
Our philosophy of Kaizen—'good change'—drives us to continually improve. We celebrate difference, personality over perfection, and foster a culture of trust, support, and open communication. We welcome everyone and encourage you to bring your authentic self to work.
