Job description

The Horse Ranch Associate will be responsible for all aspects of horse care and ranch operations while providing a safe, fun, and encouraging environment for campers of all ages. This role requires a love for horses, a deep commitment to teamwork, and the ability to engage with campers and staff on a personal and spiritual level.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing guests with a quality and safe trail ride experience acting as a guide, including assisting campers with orientation, equipment, mounting and dismounting, and other duties.
  • Instructing and/or leading campers and students in various ranch activities or classes connected to all major programs, including horse specialty camps and agricultural camps in the summer.
  • Assisting with animal care of all Saddle Horn Ranch Animals, including feeding, watering, health, and other areas.
  • Assisting with ranch maintenance, hay storage, trail management, fencing, etc.
  • Teaching leather shop classes and Farm Animal classes.
  • Creating and developing camper instructional experiences, including curriculum and class resources.
  • Assisting in working with and training horses to achieve each horse’s competency or suitability for program uses.
  • Operating or learning to operate a tractor for conducting hayrides and operating farm equipment.
  • Assisting with hosting guest groups and other tasks as assigned.

We offer a full-time, year-round position with a paid salary. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in horsemanship.
