Windrush Care is a small, independent and family‑owned business based in the centre of Cheltenham. We provide our services to a predominantly private group of clients who are able to continue living in their own homes.

What we offer first and foremost to our existing and future home carers is flexibility. Most of our other carers work around other jobs, family life and we truly believe in a healthy work‑life balance. If you just wish to work earlies or lates, or a combination of the two, that is fine with us.

We offer a competitive hourly wage of £12.70 per hour (Mon‑Fri) £14.70 per hour (Weekends) + enhancements for bank holidays as well as 40p per mile (from home to first call and onwards, then back home).

We are currently offering a 20 hour contract for candidates who have availability between the hours below.
  • Early shift from 17.00pm – 22.00pm
  • Week 1 (Mon‑Fri)
  • Week 2 – (3 days in week and weekend availability)

Extra hours are available if required.

What makes Windrush care stand out from the rest?

Whilst many of the benefits we offer can be found in other care companies, what we truly believe is that Windrush Care – cares! None of our carers are seen as just a number or a resource to drain. We support, encourage and promote our home carers so they flourish in their roles and in turn transfer this to great care of our clients.

What do we offer as part of your employment?
  • Online training (learn at your own speed from the comfort of your sofa)
  • Face to face training – Moving and Handling, Medication, Safeguarding and Emergency First Aid
  • Specialist training and staff development are key goals for Windrush Care, access to specific training including Dementia, Palliative Care and Parkinson’s etc throughout your employment.
  • Opportunity to complete QCF Level 2‑5 in Adult Health and Social Care after 6 months of continued employment. (Dependent on role)
  • Access to all training certificates at no cost to you.
  • Paid holidays and enhanced bank holiday rates
  • Monthly pay
  • On‑call support 7 days a week, 24 hours a day + supportive office team – open door policy.
  • Free DBS check
  • Free uniform and PPE
  • Paid training time
  • Paid shadow shifts
  • Festive company events – who doesn’t like a party?
  • Ongoing support from our care management team who are always at hand, even if it’s just for a chat
  • Clear and concise pay scales… with nothing hidden. For one hour of work – you will be paid our stated hourly rate (dependent on weekdays and weekends)

Simply put – What we say, we do. That is our promise to you.
