Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to diagnose and repair vehicles at the roadside, with a focus on resolving faults quickly for members across the UK. You will operate from your home location, using the RAC van, fuel card, and diagnostic kit provided.

This role requires a Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) and at least 2 years of hands-on experience. Base pay starts at £36,400 with a realistic OTE around £60,000–£61,000, depending on overtime, bonuses, and performance.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent with 2+ years' experience
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical roadside repairs and diagnostics across the UK.
• Provide emergency breakdown support and quick, confident solutions.
