Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to keep the UK moving. You’ll diagnose faults, perform roadside repairs, and support members in real-world breakdowns, using your Level 2 qualification or equivalent plus 2+ years’ experience.

You’ll start and finish at home, with a RAC van and tools provided, covering a local area. Enjoy a market-competitive base salary of £36,400 with a realistic OTE of £60,000+ and a benefits package that includes a pension, holidays, and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic also accepted.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Start and finish each day at home, with local area focus and safe, prompt service.
• Operate with a RAC van, fuel card, and diagnostic kit provided on day one.
• Provide confident, reassuring assistance to RAC members at the roadside.
