Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician for the Cheltenham cluster, requiring a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and 2+ years’ hands-on experience to diagnose faults, perform roadside repairs, and support members across the UK. You’ll start and finish each day at home, working about 40 hours weekly with demand-driven shifts and optional overtime.

A base salary of £36,400, with an OTE around £60k+, and RAC-provided van, fuel card, uniform, tools, and diagnostic kit are

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK
• Start and end your day at home
• Equip and support with provided tools and diagnostic kit
• Offer quick, confident solutions and reassurance to RAC members
