History Teacher

Location: Weston-super-Mare

Pay: £168.80 - £252.47 per day

Type: Fixed-term contract (term 4)

Hours: Full-time

Are you a passionate and dedicated History Teacher seeking a new opportunity to inspire learners in a supportive educational environment? We are working with a secondary school in Weston-Super-Mare to recruit a qualified History Teacher for a fixed-term position during Term 4. This is an excellent chance to join a committed team within a growing school community that values high standards and student success. The role is suitable for an experienced Teacher with a background in Humanities, particularly History, who holds QTS or QTLS status.

About the Role

Working primarily within a secondary education setting, you will be responsible for delivering engaging History lessons to GCSE level students. The position offers an opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive and professional team, focusing on fostering a love of learning and keen understanding of the curriculum. The role is fixed-term for Term 4, providing stability for the duration of the academic year. This is a full-teaching role, therefore planning and marking will be required. There will also be the requirement to teach some Health and Social Care lessons, which will be part of the regular timetable.

Candidate Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS)
  • Proven experience teaching History within a secondary school setting
  • Strong knowledge of the secondary curriculum, particularly Humanities and History
  • Good classroom management and organisation skills
  • Ability to adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs of learners
