Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals UK & Ireland in Exeter is seeking a Hire Controller who will be the first point of contact for customers visiting the depot, on the phone, or online. You’ll build relationships, understand customer needs and help them use our equipment effectively.

You’ll manage the full customer journey from enquiry to post-hire feedback, upsell where appropriate, and ensure accurate processing in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Customer Service role handling inbound order/sales enquiries.
• Experience in hire or construction industry advantageous but not essential.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with customers.
• Good IT literacy and willingness to learn new systems.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist customers visiting the depot and handle enquiries via phone, email, and in person.
• Answer queries and process orders from enquiry to post-hire feedback, owning the customer journey.
• Upsell opportunities using product knowledge to maximise value for customers and the business.
• Collaborate with team to deliver a best-in-class service in a fast-paced, operational environment.
