Job summary

RH Commercial Vehicles, Northampton site, is recruiting a Workshop Controller to lead a busy HGV workshop and drive performance. You will manage a team of technicians, coordinate workloads, and ensure high-quality service while maintaining safety and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have City and Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Repair, proven supervisory experience, and strong leadership and communication skills. Renault and Isuzu experience plus My Check familiarity are a plus.

Qualifications

• City and Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Repair and Maintenance.
• Proven experience as an HGV Technician with dealership experience.
• Proven supervisory or Workshop Controller experience.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Up-to-date knowledge of HGV maintenance, diagnostics, and safety regulations.
• Experience with Renault Trucks and Isuzu Trucks; My Check familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of HGV technicians and allocate workloads.
• Oversee daily workshop operations and safety standards.
• Ensure repairs meet manufacturer and safety standards.
• Provide customers with progress updates and coordinate with service reception.
• Perform maintenance, fault diagnosis, and MOT preparation to high standards.
• Monitor technician productivity and manage tools, stock, and parts ordering.
• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and training.
