Job summary

Venatu Automotive - Truck, Bus, and Car in Manchester is seeking an HGV Workshop Controller to lead a busy workshop and a team of up to 20 staff. This is a fully off-the-tools management role, focusing on people, workflow and safety standards.

You will require Level 3 HGV qualification and prior hands-on HGV technician experience, plus strong leadership and communication skills to develop the team and ensure high-quality repairs.

Qualifications

• Off-the-tools management role with strong leadership abilities.
• Previous Workshop Controller or equivalent experience is essential.
• Strong technical background with hands-on HGV technician experience and Level 3 qualification.

Responsibilities

• Managing, supporting and motivating a team of up to 20 workshop staff
• Coordinating daily workshop activities and allocating work efficiently
• Ensuring vehicles are maintained and repaired to a high standard
• Monitoring workshop productivity, quality and performance
• Ensuring health & safety and company procedures are followed
• Supporting the development and training of workshop staff
• Liaising with other departments to ensure efficient workshop operations
• Managing workload and priorities to meet operational requirements
• Providing technical guidance and leadership when required
• Driving continuous improvement across the workshop
