Qualifications

Job description

Our client is currently recruiting an experienced HGV Technician / Mechanic / Fitter to join their team in Crawley.

Duties & Responsibilities :
  • Maintain and repair vehicles to DVSA and manufacturer standards
  • Carry out inspections, servicing, MOT preparation, and complete service documentation
  • Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and improve fleet reliability
  • Diagnose faults using advanced diagnostic equipment, including auto-electrical systems
  • Work on HGVs, LCVs, trailers and PSVs
  • Attend roadside breakdowns using a company-provided breakdown van
Experience & Requirements
  • Apprenticeship trained with City & Guilds HGV Parts 1, 2 & 3 or equivalent qualification
  • Proven experience servicing, repairing and fault-finding on commercial vehicles
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle body electrics, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • HGV Mechanic / Technician / Fitter experience required
  • Experience within the waste management sector advantageous
  • LGV Class C / HGV Class 2 licence desirable but not essential
  • Ability to work independently, safely and competently in a physically demanding role
  • Reliable, proactive and committed to delivering high standards of workmanship
