Job description

We are proud to working alongside our client, a well-established national organisation with their search for a Fleet Manager to be based on site in St Helens.

What does the role involve?
  • Operator Licence (O‑Licence) Management: Ensure full compliance with all O‑Licence conditions and undertakings, promptly notifying the Traffic Commissioner of any relevant changes.
  • Driver Management & Compliance: Ensure all drivers hold the appropriate, valid licences and have up-to-date Driver CPC qualifications; manage and analyse digital tachograph and Working Time Directive records, addressing all infringements in writing and keeping detailed records.
  • Implement and enforce robust safety protocols, conducting regular driver briefings and training sessions.
  • Vehicle Maintenance & Safety: Develop and manage comprehensive preventative maintenance inspection (PMI) schedules, MOTs, and testing; oversee a robust driver defect reporting system, ensuring all defects are repaired promptly and unroadworthy vehicles are taken out of service; maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance, inspections, and safety checks for at least 15 months.
  • Auditing & Reporting: Conduct regular internal audits of systems and procedures to monitor adherence to standards and prepare reports for management and regulatory bodies (DVSA, HSE).
  • Legislation: Stay abreast of changes in UK and international transport laws and regulations, implementing necessary changes to operations and training staff accordingly.
Your Experience
  • Experience within a Transport Compliance role is essential.
  • Can multi‑Task and prioritise duties.
  • Strong IT Experience (Excel and Word).
