Qualifications

Job description

JOB TITLE: HGV Driver Class 2 - UK & European Tramping

LOCATION: Aylesford, Kent

HOURS: 45 core hours + overtime, Monday - Friday

A bit about your role..

Join Pineapple as a driver and be the face of our company, delivering our furniture safely and professionally. This European Tramping role includes routes through Germany, France, Poland, and the UK. The job is physically demanding, involving heavy lifting, and you’ll work as part of a small, committed team.

Some of your key responsibilities...
  • Providing white glove delivery and installation of our products and furniture.
  • Ensuring safe, legal, and efficient delivery of goods, complying with all UK and EU driving regulations.
  • Covering 45 core hours and any overtime will be paid as time and a half. Working Monday – Friday.
  • Loading and unloading vehicles, including heavy lifting, in line with health and safety procedures.
  • Carrying out daily vehicle inspections and reporting any faults or defects immediately.
  • Ensuring the vehicle is maintained, clean, and presentable at all times.
  • Adhering to drivers’ hours, tachograph, and Working Time Directive (WTD) regulations.
  • Securing loads safely and ensuring products are protected during transit.
  • Completing delivery paperwork, including PODs, CMRs, and customs/border documentation where required.
  • Planning routes efficiently and reporting delays, incidents, accidents, or near misses promptly.
  • Working as part of a team and completing ad-hoc tasks as required.
  • Communicating effectively with the Transport Supervisor and other departments.
  • Acting as a professional brand ambassador when interacting with customers and external contacts.
  • Following all health and safety procedures, including proper manual handling techniques.
  • Using company systems and technology (PDAs, tracking apps, defect reporting tools) as required.
Requirements
  • A full and valid UK driving licence with HGV Class 2 entitlement.
  • Must hold a valid and up to date CPC card and Digital Tachograph card.
  • Willingness and ability to undertake European tramping and UK deliveries, including multiple nights away from home (Monday–Friday). Comfortable sleeping in the HGV for up to a week at a time.
  • Willing to work overtime as required.
  • Comfortable sleeping in the HGV and being away up to a week Monday – Fridays.
  • Physically fit, able to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely; training will be provided. Manual handling training will be provided.
  • Some woodwork, carpentry or furniture assembly experience would be desirable but not essential.
  • Superb customer service skills with a polite, professional and helpful manner.
