Everi, Inc. is seeking an HGV Driver Class 1 in Peterborough for a permanent role on a 45-hour week. You will work Monday to Friday, typically 9am to 7pm, driving a modern Volvo tractor unit with fridge and leather seating.

The position offers a competitive salary of £37,042.20 per year and a clear progression path within a premier parcel delivery operation. Key duties include planning routes, safe vehicle operation, loading/unloading at sites where required, and daily defect reporting.

Qualifications

• Class 1 driving licence required.
• Driver CPC qualification card required.
• Completed required DCPC training hours or be working towards them.
• Excellent knowledge of Road Transport Laws and safe driving practices.

Responsabilités

• Plan and execute own routes to deliver on time.
• Drive a Volvo fleet vehicle, ensuring safe operation and daily checks.
• Assist with loading/unloading where site procedures allow.
• Complete a Defect Report if any vehicle issues arise.

What You'll Do:

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old. They're a joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leather seats and many more optional extras to make sure you're comfortable. Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and 9-hour shifts per day which typically start at 7/8am. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance where you'll be driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

We don't micromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes. The average number of stops in a shift is 4 to 6, so there's plenty of time to enjoy being out on the open road — but you'll still be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift. You'll make sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time. At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you — at others, you'll need to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day. You'll be responsible for inspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
