Job summary

EVRi International in Hounslow is hiring an HGV Driver Class 1 - Linehaul to join the UK’s premier parcel delivery operation. This permanent role offers a 45-hour week, Mon-Fri 18:00–04:00 shifts and a base salary of £42,798.20 plus nights uplift and London weighting.

You’ll drive a modern Volvo fleet, perform pre-trip inspections and represent the company on the road, with an emphasis on timely deliveries and safe operation. Training and career progression are supported.

Qualifications

• Class 1 Driving licence required.
• Driver CPC qualification card required.
• DCPC training hours completed or actively working toward.
• Excellent knowledge of Road Transport Laws and safe driving practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan and drive trunk routes to regional hubs on night shifts.
• Ensure timely delivery of pallets, freight and cages while on the road.
• Carry out pre-trip vehicle inspections and complete defect reports.
• Operate scanning equipment and assist with loading/unloading as required.

WhatYou’llDo:

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.They’rea joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sureyou’recomfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and9-hourshifts per day which typically start at5/6pm. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance whereyou’llbe driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

Wedon’tmicromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes.This job involves trunking to regional hubs on the night shift. So, if you like the independence of being out on the open road for long stretches - but also want to be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift, this is the job for you.

You’llmake sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time.At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,you’llneed to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You’llbe responsible forinspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
