Job summary

Evri in Sheffield is looking for a HGV Class 1 Driver. You’ll operate a Volvo lorry from our modern fleet, all under four years old, designed for comfort with features like fridges and leather seats.

The role runs Monday to Friday nights, 45 hours per week with 9-hour shifts starting around 5–6pm. You’ll trunk to regional hubs, plan routes, and be home after each shift, with no micromanagement and risks controlled.

Qualifications

• Mandatory Class 1 driving licence.
• Driver CPC qualification card required.
• DCPC training hours completed or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Drive a Volvo lorry on night shifts to regional hubs.
• Plan routes and manage long-distance trunking with independence.
• Inspect vehicle and trailer daily; complete a defect report if needed.
• Scan consignments and operate pallet trucks where required.

WhatYou’llDo:

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.They’rea joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sureyou’recomfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and9-hourshifts per day which typically start at5/6pm. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance whereyou’llbe driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

Wedon’tmicromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes.This job involves trunking to regional hubs on the night shift. So, if you like the independence of being out on the open road for long stretches - but also want to be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift, this is the job for you.

You’llmake sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time.At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,you’llneed to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You’llbe responsible forinspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
