Job summary

Blue Arrow is recruiting a HGV Class 1 Driver for ongoing pre-booked shifts in York (YO26). You will operate a straight trunk to Midlands hubs with a modern fleet, using telematics and route planning tech. Expect long shifts, 12 hours on average, and a 24/7 operation with predictable pre-booked rostas.

The role requires full UK Class C+E licence, CPC and Digital Tachograph Card, plus a minimum 12 months’ HGV Class 1 experience. Onsite parking and supportive team are provided.

• UK driving duties and compliance requirements.
• CPC and Tachograph Card are mandatory.
• Full UK Class C+E licence holder with 12 months’ HGV Class 1 experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry straight trunk runs to Midlands hubs.
• No multi-drop deliveries; no handball involved.
• Operate a modern fleet with telematics and route planning tech.

Contract Type: Pre-booked, ongoing

Location: York - YO26

Pay Rates

• Monday - Thursday: £18.15ph and £25.25ph OT after 8 hours
• Friday: £18.15ph until midnight, £23.52ph after and £25.25ph OT after 8 hours
• Saturday: £23.52ph until midnight, £26.25ph after and £25.25ph OT after 8 hours
• Sunday: £26.25ph until midnight, £18.15ph after and £25.25ph OT after 8 hours

45 minute break deducted daily and rates increase after 12 weeks service

Shift Patterns

• Shifts: Availability Monday through till Sunday - 24/7 operation
• Average Shift Length: 12 hours
• Start times vary between 14:00 - 18:00
• Pre-booked rota for better planning

Job Role

• Destinations: Midlands Hubs
• Workload: Straight trunk to hub and back
• No multi-drop
• No hand ball - clean driving work only
