Job summary

Blue Arrow is seeking a HGV Class 1 Driver for pre-booked, ongoing or adhoc shifts in the Darlington area. Work involves trunking to hubs with no multi-drop and a focus on clean driving.

Expect fixed weekend shifts with long 12-hour days and start times typically between 14:00 and 22:00, with telematics guiding routes. These roles offer onsite parking, pre-booked shifts for planning, and a supportive team in a structured environment.

Qualifications

• Full UK Class C+E Licence held.
• CPC and Digital Tachograph Card valid.
• Maximum 6 points on licence, no DR/DG/CC/DD/BA endorsements.
• Minimum 12 months' HGV Class 1 experience.
• Tachograph data available for last 3–6 months.
• Full induction paid and completed on a midweek.

Responsibilities

• Perform trunk runs to Midlands hubs and back; no multi-drop.
• Operate in a clean driving role with no handball.
• Work from a pre-booked rota with 12-hour average shifts.

Job Title: HGV Class 1 Driver

Location: Darlington - DL1

Pay Rates

• Saturday: £23.52ph until midnight, £26.25ph after and £25.25ph OT after 8 hours
• Sunday: £26.25ph until midnight, £18.15ph after and £25.25ph OT after 8 hours
• 45 minute break deducted daily and rates increase after 12 weeks service

Shift Patterns

• Fixed Shifts: Saturday and/or Sunday
• Average Shift Length: 12 hours
• Start times vary between 14:00 - 22:00
• Pre-booked rota for better planning

Job Role

• Destinations: Midlands Hubs
• Workload: Straight trunk to hub and back or x1 collection
• No multi-drop
• No hand ball - clean driving work only

Requirements

• 6 points maximus - no DR/DG/CC/DD/BA endorsements

• Data available on your tachograph card displaying work over last 3 - 6 months
• Full induction required - this is paid time and must be completed on a midweek
