Job summary

Blue Arrow is seeking a HGV Class 1 Driver based in Gloucester (GL2). The role centers on straight trunk runs to Midlands hubs with pre-booked shifts for planning and a fixed weekend pattern. This is a pre-booked, ongoing/adhoc contract with paid induction.

Shifts are long (average 12 hours) with start times 14:00–22:00, and involve no handball or multi-drop work. Telematics and route planning tech are used to ensure efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Full UK Class C+E Licence valid.
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card required.
• Maximum 6 points on licence; no DR/DG/CC/DD/BA endorsements.
• Minimum 12 months' HGV Class 1 experience.
• Tachograph data available for last 3–6 months.
• Full induction paid time; must be completed midweek.

Responsibilities

• Destinations: Midlands Hubs.
• Workload: Straight trunk to hub and back or single collection.
• No multi-drop.
• No hand ball; clean driving work only.

Pay Rates

• Saturday: £23.52ph until midnight, £26.25ph after and £25.25ph OT after 8 hours
• Sunday: £26.25ph until midnight, £18.15ph after and £25.25ph OT after 8 hours
• 45 minute break deducted daily and rates increase after 12 weeks service

Shift Patterns

• Fixed Shifts: Saturday and/or Sunday
• Average Shift Length: 12 hours
• Start times vary between 14:00 - 22:00
• Pre-booked rota for better planning

Requirements

• Full induction required - this is paid time and must be completed on a midweek
