Heritage Tourism Assistant (Cranwell Aviation Heritage Museum)

Part‑time (12 Hours) – Permanent, Every Monday and Friday

A2 - £26,403 – £28,142 Per Annum, Pro Rata

North Kesteven District Council is seeking an enthusiastic professional to join the Visitor Venues team; This post puts you at the heart of a dynamic department which is critical in the promotion & delivery of the Council’s heritage services.

Job Requirements
  • A strong interest in heritage, aviation, museums, or tourism
  • Experience in a customer‑facing or public engagement role
  • Ability to work with volunteers and work independently when required
  • Reliable, organised, and comfortable handling cash
  • Maintaining high levels of cleanliness across the venue
  • Proactive and flexibility to work at other heritage sites, if required
Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome and engage with visitors to enhance their experience
  • Assist in managing the Museum’s artefact collection in line with required standards
  • Support in the planning and delivery of public events and activities
  • Support in the planning and delivery of educational visits
  • Co‑ordinate with volunteers and work closely with the Heritage Tourism Officer
  • Ensure safe, smooth, and high‑quality site operation

You will be required to apply a high level of attention to detail when carrying out this role, to support the delivery of heritage services at an operational level and show an appreciation of the contribution local government can make to the welfare of the people living, working, and visiting the district.
