Job description
Job summary
  • Work as part of the Healthcare team, providing care and support to patients within HMP Ranby in accordance with security guidelines.
  • Work closely with other teams within the prison and with external agencies in meeting the holistic needs of the patients.
  • At times, be able to work without direct supervision, undertaking delegated tasks and reporting back to the Registered Nurses.
  • Actively participate in the ongoing development of positive working relationships with prison staff.
Main duties of the job
  1. Perform clinical observations, report abnormalities, elevate concerns and document on System One accurately.
  2. Follow infection prevention and control guidelines to protect yourself, colleagues and patients.
  3. Assist in the provision of clinics (phlebotomy, vaccinations, ECGs, physical investigation clinics and wound care clinics) in line with your skills & proficiencies.
  4. Participate in resident screenings with healthcare colleagues.
  5. Maintain accurate, timely and legible records of resident’s care, including data input and statistical information.
  6. Contribute to the ordering, distribution, stock control and maintenance of Healthcare equipment and resources.
  7. Participate in all aspects of healthcare admin duties, including booking appointments, scanning patients’ information and answering queries.
  8. Participate in health promotion events.
