Healthcare Assistant – Canterbury

Healthcare Assistant Care and Support – Lark View Care Home Contract: Full Time and Part‑Time. Salary: 12.21 per hour. Shift Type: Days & Nights. Contracted hours: 36 – 48. Our care home has stunning views from both sides looking onto beautiful Kent countryside and provides a cosy and homely feel for up to 64 residents. We provide Nursing, Residential, Dementia & Respite Care.

At our home, you’ll be a key person responsible in helping us achieve an excellent standard of care to our residents. You’ll be an integral part of our care team to promote the values and ethos of our home.

As a Healthcare Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in our close‑knit care team, ensuring our residents receive exceptional care and support.

You’ll help them with their daily routines, promote independence, and ensure their overall health and happiness are prioritised every day.

What you’ll do
  • Assist residents with their daily routines, from getting dressed to staying active, encouraging independence and positive choices.
  • Follow and support each resident’s personalised care plan, providing hands‑on help and thoughtful attention to their individual needs.
  • Keep a close eye on residents’ health, communicating any concerns to the Nurse or Clinical Deputy Manager, and helping with calls to relatives or healthcare professionals.
  • Uphold the dignity and respect of each resident, ensuring they feel valued and cared for in every interaction.
  • Encourage social interactions among residents and with staff, creating a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Work with housekeepers to maintain clean, safe, and comfortable living spaces, and respond quickly to emergencies or call bells.
  • Assist residents who need extra help with eating and drinking, ensuring their nutritional needs are met.
  • Bring joy to our residents’ lives and make them smile every day.
About you
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care preferred.
  • At least 6 months as a Care Assistant, or transferable skills and passion for care.
  • Genuine interest in caring for the elderly and commitment to delivering excellent service.
  • Integrity, respect, and strong teamwork mindset.
