Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity in our Gloucester clinic for a Healthcare Assistant who wants to make a difference in our patients' lives. You will provide patient care according to Diaverum procedures and in order to increase the quality of life for our patients. A comprehensive professional training programme will be provided to you, including on‑the‑job training, e‑learning and access to our in‑house education programme d Academy.

Main duties of the job

Under the supervision of a registered nurse, you will be expected to support the nursing team by undertaking a range of duties. Duties can include but are not limited to maintaining clean equipment following appropriate training, preparing supplies and packs for treatment, undertaking health checks with patients pre and post dialysis, escorting patients to the clinical and waiting areas and serving refreshments during treatments.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
  • Minimum NVQ level 2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent (preferably working towards level 3).
  • Ideally previous experience in a hospital and healthcare setting.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A positive and dynamic approach to delivering safe and effective care.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with fluency in English.
What We Offer
  • Full‑time, permanent position based at Gloucester Cotswold clinic.
  • Competitive salary of £23,810 to £24,474 per year.
  • Comprehensive professional training programme, including on‑the‑job training, e‑learning and access to our in‑house education programme ‘d Academy.’
  • Paid breaks and day‑time shift hours (6:30 am to 11:30 pm, Monday to Saturday; no nights or Sundays).
  • Overtime paid at time and a half after completing full‑time hours (150 hours every 4 weeks).
  • 35 days holiday (inclusive of 8 days bank holiday) increasing with service.
