Qualifications

  • Exceptional understanding of all relevant H&S regulations applicable to warehouse environment.
  • 1-2 years in a safety or operational based role with safety accountability.
  • Ability to engage with site and customer stakeholders.
  • Keen eye for detail to identify root causes and enable continuous improvement.
  • Able to communicate at all levels, internally and externally.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HSE support and guidance to ensure compliance.
  • Support implementation of HSE standardisation and initiatives.
  • Monitor incident management systems and conduct audits.
  • Manage site Risk Assessment and Safe Systems of Work schedule.
  • Ensure timely completion of accident investigations.

Salary: £38,012.06
Grade: M
Contract Type: 12 Month Secondment

Working Hours: Rotational shifts, 4 On 4 Off, 4am - 4pm
Location: Gatwick Airport - RH6 0JW

Overview

DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to play a vital role ensuring continuous development and execution of Health and Safety across the business.

Responsibilities
  • Provide day to day HSE support, guidance and advice to the Operational Management Team and aligned Functions to enable the site to comply with all relevant statutory legislation, CAA guidance and company standards
  • Support with the implementation of HSE standardisation and continuous improvement initiatives identified from DHL and Customer goals and objectives
  • Assist with the development, implementation and communication of all relevant HSE policies at the station.
  • To support the HSE Business Partner to drive engagement and the Just Culture / Safety Culture within the Station
  • Drive and support the Safety First & Just Culture within the area of responsibility
  • Coordinating the HSE activities on the site to support the HSE Business Partner
  • Monitor the accuracy and quality of information within incident management systems and use trend analysis
  • Help maintain Safety Improvement Plan in a standardised format (inclusive of leading & lagging indicators).
  • Undertake relevant Safety, Health and Environment audits and create action plan in line with Safety Arrangement and Divisional audit schedule. This will also include Customer Base Line Audit activities
  • Assist in the management of the site H&S committee
  • Manage the site Risk Assessment and Safe Systems of Work schedule in line with the Safety Arrangement
  • Ensuring accident and incident investigations are completed in a timely manner and actions are implemented to prevent reoccurrence at the site (inclusive of major incidents & motor acitivities). Ensuring all actions are traced through the SIP plan
  • Undertake and support applicable audits and assist and monitor corrective action plans in line with corporate and customer requirements.
  • Support with the management of Claims
