Health, Safety and Wellbeing Business Partner

Are you passionate about wanting to make a real difference to making sure people are healthy, safe and well in work? We are looking for a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Business Partner to join our growing team. This is far more than a traditional health and safety role, we need people who are passionate about wanting to make a real difference across our services, making sure health, safety and wellbeing is a priority for everyone!

About the role
  • You will provide best practice advice and guidance on health, safety and wellbeing matters to stakeholders across different services within the Council
  • You will review and audit arrangements for health and safety management and continuously improve these arrangements where appropriate
  • You will work with services to conduct and reviewing risk assessments and audits, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.
  • You will work collaboratively with managers at all levels to support health, safety and wellbeing excellence and drive behavioural change
We’re looking for someone who :
  • Has significant experience in a similar health, safety and wellbeing role, preferably within a large, complex organisation.
  • Holds a relevant health and safety qualification e.g Nebosh General Certificate (essential) NEBOSH Diploma (preferred) or equivalent, with chartered membership with a professional body such as IOSH or CIEH being preferred
  • Has experience of implementing health and safety systems, with strong investigation skills
  • Has excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong influential relationships and motivate others to adopt safer working practices.
  • Has strong data analysis skills, identifying and reporting on themes and trends to senior leaders’ teams with innovative recommendations for action / improvement.
