Job description

Bluebell Ward is a 25 bedded community based unit focused on discharge to assess and complex discharges. Patients are discharged to our unit when they are medically fit to leave hospital but they can not go home as they may need more rehabilitation, or equipment in their home or support with care.

Our focus always is home first and we have a multi-disciplinary team of nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, discharge coordinators, social workers and health care support workers to ensure our patients receive the best care and support to get them home as soon as possible.

Please note that whilst the trust does offer sponsorship this role is unfortunately not eligible for visa sponsorshipunder the UK Health and Care Worker visa route. This is due to the position not meeting theminimum salary threshold of £25,000 per annumand/or the requiredskill levelset by UK Visas and Immigration.

Main duties of the job

As a health care support worker on Bluebell you play an absolutely fundamental role in ensuring our patients are well cared for, listened to and supported. Your role would be to provide personal care as required, supporting with nutritional & hydration needs, helping with patient safety and skin integrity under the supervision of qualified nursing staff.

Education & Qualification
  • Good general education/ Literacy & Numeracy or willing to work towards obtaining
  • Willing to undertake the National Care Certificate training programme
  • Holds National Care Certificate
  • Working towards or prepared to work towards obtaining an Apprenticeship in Clinical Healthcare.
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of Infection Control & Safeguarding processes
  • Awareness and understanding of importance of confidentiality
  • Demonstrate interest in healthcare services
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
Experience
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience of caring for patients
