  • Support accident and incident investigations.

Health and Safety Assistant
Location: East London
Salary: £35,000- £40,000

Irwin and Colton have been engaged by one of the UK's largest real estate organisations to identify a new Health and Safety Assistant. The organisation has a multibillion-pound turnover and specialises in a wide variety of commercial and residential property.

This role will be working across a renowned estate featuring numerous modern residential properties, of which 66 of them are high-rise buildings. The position will report to the Compliance, Health and Safety Manager.

Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Assistant will include:

  • To support the site lead for all Health and Safety matters to maintain robust, compliant Health and Safety procedures across the estate
  • Manage Building Safety Act 2022 requirements, including identifying non-compliance, submitting Mandatory Occurrence Reports to the Building Safety Regulator and liaising with leaseholders, contractors and the London Fire Brigade
  • Coordinate and record Health and Safety inspections, audits, maintenance and repairs, to ensure compliance
  • Support accident and incident investigations, maintain accurate Health and Safety records, policies and procedures and assist with training and guidance to ensure consistent compliance and delivery standards

The successful Health and Safety Assistant will have:

  • NEBOSH general certificate (or equivalent) and membership of IOSH
  • Proven experience in Health and Safety within a residential real estate environment
  • Knowledge of Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, and related legislation
  • Experience within safety management systems
