Job summary

Arbuthnot Latham seeks a Head of Infrastructure and Cloud to lead the transformation of its enterprise infrastructure across cloud and on‑premise environments. The role focuses on delivering a secure, resilient platform supporting critical banking services while transitioning to a platform‑centred, product‑led operating model.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading enterprise Infrastructure, Cloud and Platform Engineering in regulated environments.
• Experience building high-performing teams across Infrastructure Engineering, Cloud Operations, Platform Engineering, SRE and NOC.
• Practical SRE implementation: SLOs, SLIs, error budgets and observability.
• Proven record of delivering infrastructure and cloud transformation strategies aligned to business objectives.
• Senior leadership influencing technology strategy and investments.
• Experience managing large technology budgets, vendor relationships and outsourced providers.
• Deep Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud expertise with secure, resilient platforms.
• Experience in Infrastructure-as-Code, policy-as-code, automation, and cloud governance.
• Strong knowledge of networking, IAM, compute, storage, backup and operational resilience.
• Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, automation and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience leading 24x7 operations and major incident management.
• Knowledge of information security, cyber risk and cloud security best practices.
• Experience in financial services regulatory frameworks (FCA/PRA) and operational resilience.
• Familiarity with ISO27001, NIST CSF, CIS Benchmarks and ITIL.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute infrastructure and cloud strategy aligned to enterprise objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Evolve the infrastructure estate toward platform-centric, cloud-native operating models.
• Establish a platform engineering capability and internal developer platform (IDP).
• Own cloud and infrastructure architecture, governance, and vendor strategy.
• Embed DevOps with a You Build It, You Run It model across engineering teams.
• Integrate SRE practices with SLOs, error budgets and proactive reliability.
• Ensure 24/7 NOC operations and continuous service improvement.
• Oversee security, resilience, capacity, disaster recovery and regulatory alignment.
• Implement governance, policy-as-code and audit-ready controls.
• Drive automation and IaC adoption with guardrails and policy enforcement.
• Establish observability with telemetry and AI-driven insights.
