Job summary

Hitachi Digital Services in London is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to lead the design, build, and operation of a scalable, IaC-based cloud platform across multi-cloud environments.

You will own provisioning, configuration management, patch orchestration, and cloud governance, driving automation, security, cost efficiency, and reliability with self-service capabilities and strong collaboration with SRE and Security teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in cloud/infrastructure engineering with 3+ years in a senior or lead role.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale IaC transformation and cloud migration programs.
• Relevant certifications (AWS/Azure/Terraform) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement IaC-based cloud provisioning across multi-cloud and private cloud environments.
• Design end-to-end infrastructure lifecycle management: provisioning, patching, updates, scaling, decommissioning.
• Build and maintain cloud governance guardrails using policy-as-code to enforce security and cost standards.
• Lead FinOps practices including rightsizing, reserved instances, and cost tagging.
• Own CI/CD for infrastructure deployments with automated testing and security checks.
• Create self-service portals for compliant environment provisioning.
• Mentor 2 Cloud Platform Engineers and drive architecture reviews.
• Collaborate with SRE and Security to embed reliability and observability.
• Produce ADRs, runbooks, and platform docs for operational excellence.
