Job Description
* Develop and implement long-term IT strategies and operational plans in alignment with the company's business goals.
* Collaborate with senior management to ensure IT initiatives support business objectives.
* Oversee the delivery of IT services, ensuring they meet quality standards and are delivered on time and within budget.
* Manage the IT service portfolio, including service transitions and retirements.
* Ensuring high availability, performance, and cybersecurity of systems
* Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
* Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
* Oversee IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
* Coordinate with the IT project manager and various stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure project alignment with business needs.
* Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
* Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
* Manage risk assessments and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business units and external partners
* Act as a liaison between IT and other departments to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
* Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
* Monitor IT expenditures and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in IT service management.
The Successful Applicant
* Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
* Strong experience of leading IT functions with attention to detail in the delivery of IT services and solutions.
* Agile methodology and project management experience of large-scale delivery.
* Previously been a Head of IT in a similar sized or larger organisation. A minimum of 10 years of experience in IT management.
* Worked alongside a 3rd party IT outsourcer and pro-actively managing the supplier relationship.
* Ability to process capture methodologies and business analysis.
* Plan for disaster recovery and business continuity.
* Managing a budget, with a focus on cost reduction.
* Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL), and project management methodologies.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
